The Beauty Post | Collection's 'Speedy Highlighter' Review

Who would have thought that only up until a few years ago highlighters were hardly a thing, most people didn't know what they were yet alone own one, fast forward to 2016 and all of a sudden everyone's lives revolve around how majestically dewy their skin looks. Okay that might be a little extreme, but to most people with any kind of interest in make up are always on the hunt for the perfect highlighter, and to save some of you all the hard work I may have just found that for you.

While out shopping I accidentally stumbled across Collection's 'Speedy Highlighter' stick, not being the kind of gal who passes up a bargain like this I decided to buy it. With their 'lasting perfection' concealer speaking to me on a spiritual level, I am quite a fan of their brand. Intrigued by the idea that it was a stick highlighter, eliminating the fuss of using brushes and blenders I was keen to give it a go.

The packaging is cute and simple and the product itself is wonderful. Perfect for a light everyday glow, it can also be built up for a more dramatic look. The colour I feel, is perfect for paler complexions as it has more of a warm pink hue to it rather than a bright gold which is more suited to darker skin. The product lasts a while but if you're planning on being out all day it might be best to bring it with you to re apply as after 4 or so hours it can fade just a little. Other than that I have no complaints, for under a tenner it is definitely worth a try if you are on the look out for a high end alternative highlighter.

Has anyone else tried this?

The Fashion Post | The Ones That Didn't Make The Cut

It is no secret that on social media we only present the very best version of ourselves. With everything being cropped, photoshoped and enhanced it is easy to loose a sense of reality. Being honest, behind every successful picture I take is about 20 failed ones, so I've compiled together all of my non 'post worthy' pictures and dedicated a whole post to me looking like an arse.. again.
Enjoy!

Have a lovely weekend!

The Beauty Post | Lush 'Damaged' hot oil hair treatment Review.

Quite a while ago I put up this picture on instagram saying I was excited to try it, a few people commented saying they would like a review on it so finally, here is that review.

With the core ingredients clearly printed on the front of the stick I was very excited to try this, the vanilla makes it smell amazing and I had previously heard some good things about it. The treatment claims to replenish and re hydrate dry hair while giving it a little shine boost.

How the treatment works is simple, you pop the stick into a mug/bowl pour some boiled water into it and stir until it becomes a creamy texture. Then let the treatment cool a little and rub it into your hair, I focused mainly on the ends of my hair as that is the part that is most dry for me, just working a little of the product up towards my roots. It is recommended to leave it in for at least 20 minutes, I left it in for a good hour or so to ensure that the product got to work. After this I washed it out, I washed my hair 2 or 3 times with both hot and cold water to make sure the product was fully washed out, little did I know what state my hair would be left in after. I'm not sure whether I used too much of the product, left it in for too long, or if my shampoo wasn't strong enough to wash it out, but the treatment would not get out of my hair, I had to try pick clumps of the product out of it as I was washing it, still to no avail. I blow dried and tried to style it as I usually would but my entire head was a horrible waxy texture, it looked greasy and was disgusting to touch. The next day I washed it again and while most of it washed, out my hair was still left a little waxy.

All in all this product did nothing for my hair, I did not notice any extra shine nor did it feel in any way re hydrated, for the price of this product I most definitely won't be repurchasing it. I will just stick to my diy treatments for now. That being said I have heard some really good stuff about this product so maybe it wasn't for me but it will work for you if you're willing to spend a few bob. For me, I find Lush products quite hit and miss and this was most definitely a miss. Soz Lush.

If you do happen to be looking a hair oil that stimulates growth I will recommend having a look here. Lush may not have been much use, but this may just help you find what you are looking for. Silver lining and all that.

Have you tried this product before?

The Fashion Post | Stripped Culottes and Oversized Coat

Top: Penneys/Primark
Trousers: Missguided
Coat: Boohoo
Shoes: Boohoo
Belt: Vintage

Finally I get to share this outfit, after many failed attempts of trying to take pictures of it I eventually got some decent ones. These trousers are literally the most comfortable things ever, I feel like i'm wearing pajamas whenever I wear them. Culottes are the best thing ever invented, i'm going to wear them for the rest of my life.
My double breasted coat is also the best thing ever, I feel like a grown up who has their shit together when I wear it and on top of that it's perfect for this in between weather because it is warm enough to not wear any layers underneath so you don't have to worry about throwing on cardigans upon cardigans in an attempt to stay warm if the sun disappears.

Happy Saturday!

The Fashion Post | The Sixties Print Trouser

Trousers: Topshop
Bodysuit: Zara
Shoes: Penneys/Primark

How groovy are these trousers? I picked them up in Topshop a couple months ago and i'm still in love. I got them in a size 4 in the petite section so they fit me perfectly, being quite small I can find it really hard to find trousers that fits me all over, so not having to wear a belt with these is a miracle. As much as I love them I find them a little hard to style, a print that bold can be a little overwhelming, but I feel they blend perfectly with this Zara bodysuit, the bright red teamed with the check bring out the best in each other.

How do you feel about wearing bold prints like this?
