The Life Post | Twelve Things That Friends Taught Me

Is there really anyone around that isn't a huge Friends fan? The programme has been gracing our tv screens for 22 years, and although filming ended in 2004 we have a lot to be thankful to the lovely six for. Not only did they provide us with the lol's for a decade, they have also taught us a few valuable lessons along the way. Here are just a few of my favourite.

1. Never wear leather trousers on a first date

It might seem like a good idea at the time and they might make your arse look great but it can and probably will end in a sticky disaster.

2.  Starting from the bottom is a rule of thumb

Just like Rachel worked her way up from serving coffee to being an assistant buyer, we too have to start from the bottom and work our way up to get where we want. This takes time, hard work and dedication, but it will eventually pay off.

3. We don't always have to be polite

If you want to eat that whole bar of chocolate without being polite and offering someone else some, that is okay. If your date is eyeing up your chips, well they should have got their own and respect how much of a greedy pig you are, not your problem.

4. Breaks may not be the best idea

No matter how much a relationship can become strained, Ross and Rachel have most definitely taught us that maybe going on a break is not a good plan and will more than likely end in tears.

5. Getting older is inevitable

We may not be happy about it or want to accept it, but it is part of life and eventually we will all turn the dreaded 30.. 40 and so on. We just have to get on with it.

6. When getting a spray tan, always count mississippi-lessly

We've all ended up with a dodgey spray tan at one point or another, but whatever you do, do not end up like Ross.

7. Dance like no one is watching

Life is to short to be self conscious. Dance and prance around like you are the only person in the room.

8. Not everyone has the 'perfect' family

Whatever your family situation is, you are not alone. Whether your parents are divorced or you dad decided to become a woman like Chandler's, a lot of people are in the exact same boat as you and that is normal.

9. Capture every moment

Bloggers will relate to this one the most. When on holidays spend every second of every day snapping away pictures, so in years to come you can relive all of the wonderful memories.

10. We all have looks we regret

From dodgey haircuts to inappropriate outfits. At the time we thought we were just gorgeous but looking back we really weren't. But they are HILARIOUS to reminisce on, so don't worry too much.

11. Be comfortable in your own skin

Whether you're tall, small, thin or curvy, Love and accept you for you. Easier said then done yes, but Joey has the right idea here.

12. In the end, love wins

No matter what, love will always prevail.

My list could keep going but i'll leave it at twelve.
Has friends taught you anything?

The Beauty Post | Summer Nail Polish

Left-Right
Mavala - Toulouse | Barry M - Crystal Glaze | Rimmel - Bestival Blue | Seventeen - In the Surf

For many years now I struggle to remember a time when I haven't worn nail varnish. Possibly because for 5 years in secondary school I was not allowed to wear any so now I feel the need to constantly have my nails looking pretty and never bare again.

Anyway keeping all of that in mind, as each season changes so does my nail colour. As you would expect in Winter I opt for more muted tones and in Spring and Summer I am all about dat' pastel life. Bright colours compliment a summer tan amazing and I would be lost without my stash of pretty rainbow polishes.

Along with basic pastel colours like the blues and pink above, I love glitter and texture. So to fancy up my nails I will add a glitter like the orange or blue one above to a couple of my fingers, these two again keep up with the bright colour Summer theme and look amazing when matched up with almost any colour.

What nail colours have you been wearing this Summer?

The Fashion Post | The Cold Shoulder Trend

Since my last trend post (here) went down a treat a couple of weeks ago I thought I it was time to make another, and this trend has by far been a sure favourite of mine for quite a while now. In recent months the off the shoulder trend has fully established itself in the fashion world and has creeped it's way into most of our wardrobes. Above I put together a few of my favourites to share.

Easy to pull off and flattering on basically everyone, I think it is the perfect way to take an outfit from 0 to 100 and is an ideal to show some skin and be sexy without having to bare it all. The street style looks above show how the trend can be dressed both up and down and hopefully will give you a few pointers on how the trend can be styled.

What do you think of the cold shoulder look?
Please do leave me comments on what trend you would like to see me cover next.

I hope you're having a lovely day!

By the way, I am currently travelling around Europe so be sure to follow me on instagram to keep up to date on my adventures!

The Life Post | My Smoothie Recpie

Recently I have been on a bit of a health kick trying to get in shape for the summer. With that I have been searching for easy ways to incorporate more fruit and veg into my diet and have found a couple of smoothie recipes that I thought I would give a go. Through trial and error I have found my favourite one that I drink most days now and actually enjoy. If like me, you like sweet tasting things this may be the smoothie for you.

You will need:
Strawberries
Raspberries
1 banana
Almond milk
Protein (optional)

To make my smoothie, I simply chop up everything and throw them in the blender with some almond milk and blend it all up. I don't use any measurements so just throw in as much as you think you need yourself and you should be good. I usually chop up all of my fruit, divide them evenly and pop it into a plastic lunch bag in the freezer to do me for the rest of the week. I have this smoothie about 3 or 4 days a week and on the days I work out I will sometimes pop a small amount of powdered protein in. So if you work out too and are looking to see results you could give this a try, but again the protein is completely optional and it tastes amazing with or without it.

I would love to hear what kind of smoothies you drink if you do and what recipes you use, let me know in the comments!

Also.. do give me a little follow on instagram. At the minute I am interrailing around Europe and posting on there regularly!

The Beauty Post | Perfect Pout - Natural Lip Enhancer Review

In a world full of Kardashians, almost everyone is obsessed with having or getting big lips. Whether you were naturally blessed with them or seek a little cosmetic help, full lips are one of the many things today's society deems to be 'beautiful'.

Although in no way shape or form do I desire to be like the Kardashians, I do desire big lips. My lips naturally are not the smallest but I have always struggled to be content with them, my top lip in particular. In recent months I have even considered getting lip fillers but having thought about it I know that for now I love to look natural and pumping collagen into my lips is not the route I want to go down.

So with that in mind I was extremely excited when Perfect Pout sent me their product to test out for myself. I have heard a lot about natural lip enhancers and have been dying to give them a try. The packaging itself is stupidly cute, for anyone else that is a pink girly kind of girl you will love it too. The enhancer comes with instructions on how to use it on the box. They are as follows:

1. Apply lip salve to moisturize your lips.
2. Position your Perfect Pout in the centre of you lips, drawing in short breaths so it locks firmly and draws your lips into the plumper.
3. Once you have suction, leave on for 15-30 seconds and remove by breaking the suction with your finger.
4.  Repeat until the desired effect is obtained. Results may vary. All 3 sizes can be used to obtain different results.
5. Apply your favourite lip liner and lip gloss.

I repeat the process about 5 times until I am happy with the result, this of course would be different for each person. The enhancer I got is medium round and this is the only bad thing I can say about the product, I think the size of the enhancer was a little too big for my mouth and I feel I could achieve better results with a smaller one. However I am still happy with the difference the product makes.

I think this product is a fair alternative to getting something more drastic like lip fillers or permanent lip liner. Of course the results you get with the lip enhancer would not be the to the same extent as the other options, but the product is perfect if you want some little extra lip volume for a special occasion or even just messing around taking selfies.

Have you tried anything like this before?

The Fashion Post | Floral Maxi and Off The Shoulder Crop

Skirt: Forever21 | Crop Top: Asos | Sandals: Boohoo

Can I firstly just state how stupidly difficult it was to take these pictures. I took them late in the evening as the sun was setting so with that the lighting was changing every two seconds, first it was too dark then it was too light.. seriously the struggle was real. I am surprised I even managed to get these. I know they are not great so I do apologize for them not being the most clear of pictures, that is the last time I will take pictures in the evening, lesson learned.

Anyway, I picked up this maxi about two years ago in Forever21 and two years on I am still in love. Admittedly it has become a little grubby at the ends but I mostly wear it for casual, day time kind of events so it doesn't really matter if it is not ironed or as squeaky clean as it was when I first bought it. It is so easy to style and my favourite way to wear it is with a crop top like this.

By the way I will be going on an adventure around Europe next week for a few weeks, so be sure to follow me on instagram to follow my travels!

The Fashion Post | Celebrity Get The Look - Alexa Chung

Floral maxi: Asos | Lace up sandals: Pretty Little Thing | Jumper: Topshop

For a while now I have been wanting to make some celebrity style inspired posts and who better to start off with than the queen of style, Alexa Chung.

I completely fell in love with this boho chic look Alexa has going on above and luckily for us we can get a very similar look for a very affordable price. Perfect in the Summer but, the maxi can also be layered up, as Alexa shows, with a jumper to transition you into Autumn and Winter. Simply swap the sandals for boots and you can wear this look all year round.

What celebrity would you like to see a post on next?

Ps. Next week I will be beginning on my adventure around Europe, so don't forget to follow me on instagram to keep up to date with me!

The Fashion and Beauty Post | Collective Haul

The past few weeks have been pretty much non stop preparing for my travels (which is in just over a week ahhh) which of course means that I have done my fair share of shopping. I have tried to be on my best behavior and only pick up the bits that I really need, but I am only human so sometimes I can get a little carried away.  Looking at everything I had bought in a bag the other day I thought why not make a haul post. I find looking at other people's hauls interesting so maybe even just one person will find mine to be of some kind of interest.

I picked up these sandals in Forever21 for just a tenner. They have a huge shoe sale on at the minute so I nabbed these as soon as I saw them. I am always on the look out for a pair of sandals that are both comfortable and look nice, I am forever ending up with blisters and sore feet from walking around in crappy sandals. These feel really comfortable so I am hoping they will do the job nicely.

I am so excited to try these nail polishes. They claim to last for up to 14 days so I will definitely be putting them to the test while I am away. A review post will be up soon once I have tried them for anyone that is interested.

Okay, I didn't really need these THAT bad but I ordered them anyway. They were on sale on Asos and I liked the unusual colour of them ( I am more of a brown sunglasses kind of gal). Admittedly they are a little big on my tiny head but I bought them so I will wear them now.

It's that time of year again, A lot of people like to go lighter with their hair in summer and I am definitely one of those. I am going to use this in my hair for the next couple of days to give it a little life before I jet off. If you want to learn more about this little beauty you can read my review here.

I love playsuits, but I hardly ever wear them, for the sheer fact of how awkward it is to have a wee in them. But I thought I would bite the bullet and buy this little number from boohoo. The picture does it no justice at all, it is definitely the kind of outfit that looks a lot better on than hanging up. But I am so excited to wear it, and hopefully I will get some outfit pictures so you can see it better on too.

And finally, I picked up this gorgeous maxi from boohoo also. It is a little long so I have to get it taken up but for something like a tenner I couldn't resist ordering it. The material is really light so it is perfect for warm weather and if like me you live in a colder climate, you can pop a pair of thick tights underneath and wear it at home too.

Have you made any purchases recently?

The Fashion Post | The Orange Trend

If you can't tell already from my last couple outfit posts, I am obsessed with Orange. And luckily for me it is completely in at the minute. It is so in that I actually found it so hard to whittle down all the amazing pieces I found online into the eight above. I have a Small confession to make, I may or may not have ordered the heels myself while putting this together.. oops! It has been seen on the likes of the Kardashians and was all over the catwalks this year and is set to stick around for longer.

You could go all out with a head to toe orange look or play it safe with a little hint of colour, be it shoes or nail varnish. Easily dressed up or down as I tried to show above. For me, my favourite thing about the trend is that it suits pretty much everyone. Blonde hair, brunette, tanned skin, pale, tall, small, there are no requirements to pull off the look, just have confidence!

What do you think of the trend?

The Life Post | Blogger Interview - Sarah Ashcroft 'That Pommie Girl'

About a year ago I interviewed the lovely Sarah Ashcroft from That Pommie Girl for a college assignment. Recently I re discovered the interview looking through old emails and I thought it could make a fun post. I am sure most of you are quite familiar with Sarah, if not through her blog then from instagram. The gorgeous lady has a huge following and I feel very lucky to have had the chance to chat with her. I love finding out more about the bloggers I follow, for me it makes them seem a lot more real and on top of that it can be really inspiring for people interested in pursuing the same kind of career to find out a little more about the industry.

Why did you begin your blog?
After I left the Fashion Retail Academy I was eager to pursue a career in fashion PR and after being asked in almost every job interview if I had a blog I just decided to start one. I had never read a blog before in my life nor did I follow bloggers so it was all a bit random.

What did you study at uni and would you recommend studying it if you want a career in the fashion industry?
I studied a Level 3 Diploma in Fashion Retail which was amazing but that course isn't a necessity for a career in fashion but I do think a course in fashion is a good idea. However these days work experience is much more beneficial on a CV than any course or degree.

Could you tell me a little about your job and what it entails?
I am a full time fashion blogger so it involves a lot of photos, socialising and always being organised!

What do you think it takes to be a successful blogger?
Just being true to yourself. Don't ever copy as it is your own unique style that will make you stand out. I also think being relatable to your followers really helps so never think you are better than them, after all you are all human.

Do you think it is possible to turn blogging from a hobby into a full time job?
Of course :) I am living proof of that and I know a lot more who also do it full time.

What do you think are the biggest challenges breaking into the industry?
Getting yourself known if the hardest thing when you first start out blogging but once you have achieved that it all comes quite easily.

What would be your dream job?
To continue blogging full time for as long as I can :)

Do you think you need to move to a big fashion capital (like London or New York) to have the best chance of breaking into the industry?

I don't think it is a must however when it comes to getting to events and shoots easily it does help and certainly makes your life easier. I live about 30 mins outside of London in Buckinghamshire and I don't find it too hard :)

If you could interview any blogger who would it be?

The Fashion Post | Denim Skirt and Sparkles

Top: Penneys / Primark
Skirt: Asos
Heels: Penneys / Primark

I barely ever wear anything sparkly so this feels kind of weird to me. I bought this top so so long ago in Penneys, or Primark depending on where you live and recently I cut it up into a crop top to make it a little more wearable. It's kind of becoming an issue, crop tops are basically all I own and wear, does anyone else have this problem?
I also picked up these heels in Penneys the other day and I am so so in love, they come in silver too and the best part is they were under 20 euro.

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!
