Instagram Roundup | November

It's December tomorrow and I couldn't be more sad to say goodbye to Autumn. Daily life will now consist of putting on layers in an attempt to stay warm and then ripping them all off again in a sweaty rush to cool down once I get indoors, the struggle.

But on a positive note, cosy nights with pizza and hot chocolate is now on the cards 24/7 and I am a-ok with that.

How has your month been?

The Beauty Post | Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water Review

Establishing and maintaining a skincare routine isn't an easy task. Trying to find the right cleanser, toner and moisturizer that work for you skin can take years to crack. So when I saw Garnier's Micellar Water plastered all over instagram and other social media I thought it had to be worth while and maybe I should give it a go.

The product claims to remove make up, cleanse and soothe skin, while being gentle enough for the most sensitive of skin. Mostly I picked up the product to be able to cleanse my face in the morning time without having the trek all the way downstairs to the sink (first world probz). However through using it I have found it is far more useful than for just that.

So does it work? Yes!! Using a drop of this on my face in the morning wakes me right up and makes my skin feel fresh. While later on in the day after removing my make up in the evening with a face wash I will go in with some of this on a cotton pad and give it an extra cleanse and oh my god the results are disgusting yet so so satisfying. Using this feels like I am removing my make up all over again, there is a ridiculous amount left on my skin that I would have never guessed was there that the micellar water gets right off. My skin feels refreshed and energized and I feel happy knowing that any kind of dirt and bacteria has been removed from my face.

Overall I have seen a slight improvement in the condition of my skin. While it is gentle enough for sensitive skin, it is strong enough to do it's job. It isn't miracle worker when it comes to clearing up any skin problems but generally my skin is brighter and healthier and for less than a tenner why the hell not try it.

Have you tried this before? What are your thoughts on it?

The Fashion Post | Cigarette Trousers and Over sized Jumper

Trousers: Topshop | Jumper: Vintage | Loafers: Penneys/Primark

I wouldn't consider myself to be the maternal type, but I want to bottle feed and burp these trousers I love them so much. The jumper is hand made and I really need to find someone who can knit me more because I a obsessed. This is the perfect kind of outfit to wear to college because it is both pretty, comfortable and warm. This outfit gets a major thumbs up for me, if I do say so myself.

I hope you are having the loveliest of days!

The Fashion Post | The Flared Sleeve Trend

Okay so it's not Summer anymore, I get that. But a tiny part of me is still holding onto it with my love for bell sleeves. For me they remind me of hippie dresses and Summer festivals, however, the likes of Asos and Topshop do have our flared sleeve loving backs and have incorporated the trend into a more Winter appropriate form with high necks and wool material.

The look can be easily layered, imagine a little turtleneck under that orange dress above.. too much! I love the relaxed look with a pair of jeans but I also think it looks insanely cool with a mini skirt and heeled boots. Basically this trend is so versatile and I can't get enough, gimme all the sleeves.

What are your thoughts on this trend?

Girl Talk | Things I learned when I stopped wearing bras

Today marks the beginning of a little series on my blog entitled 'girl talk'. Since the vast majority of my readers are women and I myself am one too (in case you didn't know) I thought it would be interesting to make posts every so often discussing female related topics and shed some light on certain issues attributed to our gender. So get ready for a whole load of bra, period and hormone talk in the upcoming months.

To kick things off I thought I would talk about bras, or more specifically my lack of bras and what I discovered through no longer wearing them. Mostly due to laziness I gave up putting on a bra everyday around the beginning of this year, when I realised how liberating it was I decided to make an active decision to no longer wear them on a daily basis. Of course the very odd time I will put one on if needs be, but generally the gals are let loose. Here are the pros and cons of this freedom.

It's Comfortable Af
Every girl is familiar with that magical feeling you get when you remove your bra after a long day of perkiness. If you don't wear a bra you experience that feeling all the live long day, have I convinced you to ditch that bra yet?

People Will Stare
Isn't it weird to think that there are legal and illegal nipples in the world? Clearly these illegal nipples not being covered by a millimeter of material is just too much for some people to handle. Be prepared for creepy men to focus on the outline of your boobs under your top more than your face and for old ladies to make comments on how 'disgraceful' you are. I firmly hold my two fingers up to every one of these people.

Hello Bralettes
Giving up wearing bras may lead you to become acquainted with it's much prettier, much friendlier, little sister, the bralette. For me whenever it is necessary for me to wear some form of boob support I will reach for a bralette. Comfortable and pretty they are the perfect alternative to uncomfortable wire bras.

Nip Slips May Happen
This is a no brainer. No bra = the possibility of your nips making an appearance. I have had one, maybe two in my lifetime but it's really no big deal, we all have nipples and it's something that should just be laughed off.

You Save $$$
Bras are seriously expensive, which is very irritating when you didn't even choose the boob life. By ditching your bras you will save yourself a whole load of dolla bills which you can spend on more important things, like chocolate.

Running For The Bus Is Not What It Used To Be
My boobs are pretty much non existent, but I can most definitely feel them having a bounce around if I need to run for any given reason. Running to catch the bus now involves me holding my chest and announcing to my friends that I have no bra on and 'can't do this'.

Life Long Perkiness
On average bra wearers sag roughly 7mm more than non wearers. I understand for women with larger boobs it is not always possible to go braless, however, for gals like myself with smaller boobs there is no reason why we shouldn't. I definitely want to avoid sagging at all costs so really I am just doing myself a huge favour by freeing them nips.

Whether you choose to go tits out or like the support of a wired bra, that is completely your choice. For me I can't ever imagine going back to locking up my boobs in a padded prison again. I am perfectly happy to take the cons with the pros and carry on freeing the nipple.

What are your thoughts on this?

Most of the websites I have linked below also have sales on at the minute so happy shopping!

Happy Sunday!

The Life Post | A Perfect Date

It isn't often I make a post like this, mostly because my life just isn't interesting enough. However, last week myself and my boyfriend went on a 'secret' date planned by me and I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to bring along my little camera and document the day.

For our three year anniversary I decided to plan a secret date day that I would bring my boyfriend along to without him knowing where we were going and what we were doing. Our first stop was The Natural History Museum, which probably sounds a little lame but is the kind of thing that we enjoy. Next we went for a stroll in St Stephen's Green, which is the loveliest of places to be during Autumn. Nothing compares to watching the auburn leaves fall from the trees while you listen to the crispy ones beneath you crunch with each step you take.

We then went for cocktails at Pygmalion, the coziest little spot with admitedly slightly overpriced drinks but it was our special day so I didn't mind spending that little bit extra. Afterwards (and a little tipsy) we had food in a pub nearby. I didn't manage to get any pictures of our food because it was too dark by that stage to get any decent ones and generally when I see food taking a photograph of it is usually the last thing on my mind.

I hope you are all having the loveliest of weeks and I will speak to you again very shortly!

The Fashion Post | Crochet Blouse and Vintage Trousers

Crochet Blouse: Forever21
Trousers: Vintage
Brogues: Missguided

Is it a skirt? Is it a pair of trousers?.. it's kind of sort of both. I found these trousers while my mam was doing a huge clear out of her wardrobe and they just had to be mine. I can very vividly remember her buying them when I was about 7 and thinking how stupid they looked and wondering why anyone would wear them. I am definitely eating humble pie now because I feel like an absolute boss in them.

Evidently I didn't choose a great time to take these pictures, the sun was popping in and out and the photos came out looking a little messy. Usually if I am unhappy with pictures I will re take them but I am horribly sick this weekend and unable to doll myself up to stand in the cold taking photographs. So I thought an okay-ish post was better than no post at all.

I hope everyone is enjoying their Sunday.

The Fashion Post | Weekend Outfits with Rosegal

Jumper: Penneys/Primark
Jeans: Rosegal
Loafers: Penneys/Primark

It has been a very long time since I have made an outfit layout post and when I received my package from Rosegal the other week I decided now was the perfect time to do just that.

This first outfit is a typical college / doing errands outfit. As I have already said about three million times cosy jumpers are my favourite thing in the whole world (can I just say Rosegal has some uunreaal jumpers at the minute) and this print knit can be paired perfectly with my comfy jeans. Throwing on ripped jeans and a jumper or shirt is my favourite way to look like I have made an effort with my outfit without actually having to make the effort.

Cami: Penneys/Primark
Lace Blouse: Rosegal
Culottes: Missguided
Lace up Sandas: Boohoo

My second outfit is a little more dressy, the kind of thing I would wear to a party. The cami and lace blouse are two separate pieces but they look way too cute together and adding some lace under or over a cami is a really simple way to dress it up, while also staying warm as we get into the colder months.

I hope you are all having a lovely Wednesday!
