Beauty Advice I Would Give To My Younger Self.

I recently read Kia's post about beauty tips she would tell her younger self over on http://www.makemeupkia.com and thought I would make one of my own. We've all been there, looking back at old photos or videos and saying to yourself 'what the hell was I thinking?!'. So I've come up with some advice of my own that if given the chance I would tell mini Adele.

- Don't attempt to pluck your own eyebrows for the first time, you will over pluck them and look stupid.

-Eyeliner goes in your waterline, not around your whole eyeball.

-Wearing patterned leggings from Penny's is not okay.

-On the legging note, 3/4 length leggings are also not okay.

-Glitter eye shadow is okay.. glitter eye shadow AND mascara is not.

-Don't buy matching outfits with your friends, it doesn't make you look cool.

-If a side fringe goes past your chin, it's not actually a side fringe.

-2 euro penny's tan wipes are probably not the best investment.

- Wearing jeans and a matching waistcoat is not hot.

-Attempting to curl your hair with your mam's round brush will result in your hair getting stuck in it and mass amounts of pain.

-Cutting your own fringe can and probably will end badly.

-Don't follow trends, especially when when the word 'luminous' is involved. Rip all the luminous tutu's of 2009.

-Expensive products don't always work best.

-Wearing false nails all the time isn't the best idea in the long run.

-Only wear skinny jeans of they actually stick to your legs.

So that's that! The funny part is that in 10 years time future me will  more than likely be sitting here writing a post to present me about what I wish I could tell myself now, but we all have to make mistakes to learn eh?

What advice would you give to your younger self?

For me, when dressing for college the two main things that come into consideration are being warm and comfortable, looking nice can sometimes take a back seat so I decided to put together a few looks that tick the above boxes while still being somewhat 'stylish'.

I also have to admit that I very rarely have time in the morning to put on make up so I definitely don't look quite as put together in real life as I do in these pictures.. if you can call that put together.

I have to apologize for these god awful pictures, I decided to take them on what seemed to be the windiest day of the year and my little wendy house door was constantly swinging open almost coming off the hinges which meant I had to hold the door in between trying to take pictures while the sun decided every 15 seconds to be either too bright or too dark.. the struggle was real! So please, don't laugh too much at my derp faces!

Lush 'BIG' shampoo review.

I'm a sucker for anything that claims to give your hair a little extra volume, and so, it only makes sense that I picked up this little thing during my travels in town.

Firstly, the shampoo claims to lift hair and add body while also softening it and giving it a shiny appearance. Does it do this? I can honestly say, yes it does! I've used the shampoo a few times, first use I thought it was just a fluke.. it had to have been a coincidence that my hair just so happened to be a little nicer (a lot nicer) that day.. nope! Since then I've used it about 4 times, each time being satisfied with my soft, bouncy, shiny locks. Now it's no miracle worker, but for 15 euro I feel it does exactly what it says on the tin (or tub).

The texture of the shampoo is very coarse, it's made with seaweed and sea salt which give it its rough texture. A little bit definitely goes a long way. It's recommended to only use this shampoo once a week, but I try save it for special occasions and only use it when I feel my hair could do with an extra little oomph. For best results I recommend to blow dry your hair upside down and throw in a few rollers on the parts of your hair you want to have a little extra volume for an hour or two after blow drying.

All in all I think this shampoo is probably the best volumizing product I have discovered to date and would recommend anyone with limp hair like myself to give it a go!
Cheers Lush!

Autumn Nail Polish

I love painting my nails in correspondence with the current season and as we all know Autumn is upon us so, I decided to put together a little post of my favourite Autumn nail polishes.

I very rarely spend anything over a 5er when it comes to polishes and if I'm completely honest I usually just rob my mams.. she's a self confessed polish-aholic and has over the years accumulated what can only be referred to as a life time supply of nail polishes, so all of the varnishes in the post are completely affordable.

 Technic-21103- Bedazzled
Usually you would associate glitter with Winter and Christmas but this glitter polish is the perfect Autumn nail colour. Just throw a top coat over it and it'll last anything up to 5-7 days.. aw yeee.

 Essence- 34- Walk Of Fame
NYC- 134 Pinstripe White
You can always rely on essence and nyc to provide you with all the colours your heart could desire. I looove this brown colour by essence, it's the perfect Autumnal colour and white is such a classic colour that pretty much works with every season!

NYC-036-Pink Princess
Essence-54-Hot Stuff
I've ditched my summery bright pinks and vibrant reds this season for more subdued nude and wine colours. These two polishes are possibly my favourite and for such an inexpensive price last surprisingly long.

What colours will you be wearing this Autumn?

One Skirt, Two Outfits.

Outfit number 1:

Skirt: Forever21
Jumper: Topshop
Denim Jacket: Momma's wardobe
Brogues: New Look

Outfit number 2:

Skirt: Forever21
Top: Topshop
Heels: New Look

So, I decided to give today's outfit post a little bit of a twist and show how I would style one skirt for two different occasions.

I spotted this skirt walking through Forever21 last week and I thought it was so cute and for only 12 euro I just had to buy it, although all these impulse buys are adding up and my bank account's not too happy about it.. but what can ya do!

The first look is how I would style the skirt to wear to college or on a shopping day, I kept it casual with the tights and brogues and warm with the amazing fluffy jumper and denim jacket.

The second look is more of a night time look, I kept the colours minimal so I could add a pop of colour to my lips. Throw on your favourite dancing shoes and you're good to go!

Make your own scrunchie

Remember the shorts I jazzed up a while ago? Well I had some material left over from it and decided to not let it go to waste and make a little scrunchie out of it. They're pretty popular lately and with shops like American Apparel charging anything up to 15 euro for one I'd quite happily rather make my own.. and here's how!

 You will need:
Material
elastic
A needle and thread
scissors
A safety pin

Firstly, cut your material approximately 45cm long and 10cm wide. Your elastic should always be shorter than the material.

Fold the material over inside out and sew across the top using the needle and thread.

After sewing your material turn it inside out so the stitched disappear and the material is the right way. Attach a safety pin to your elastic and feed it through the hole in the material, pulling it out and the other end.

After you've put your elastic through the material it should look like this. Take off your safety pin and sew the two ends of the elastic together.

Neatly sew the two ends of your material together.

And this is how it should look in the end. Don't worry if you mess it up it takes a few attempts to get it right, also there's always great videos on youtube to bring you through each step if you're struggling with it.

I hope everyone had a lovely week and weekend!

The Outfit | Two

Bralet: Diy
Maxi Skirt: Asos
Shirt: Vintage

To me, this outfit does nothing but scream Summer.. which is a little depressing now that the season is well and truly over. But hey, only 8 months until it makes a comeback!

I bought the skirt and tie dyed a bra I picked up in Penny's (Primark) a month or two ago. I planned on the colours in the bralet being a lot more vibrant but I think the pastel colours go perfectly with the skirt and my 'spongebob shirt' brings that much needed add of colour.

I hope the week is treating everyone well, don't worry the weekend is only 2 days away!
